Rare & Important Mid 19th C English Densely Inlaided Two Tiered Sheraton Satinwood Table With Trophy Emblematic Of The Arts And Floral Inlays Throughout The Table. Having the maker's label: "Edwards & Roberts" who utilized the finest craftsmen in London And Fashioned Furniture After Adam & Sheraton Designs. Provenance: London, England 148-160 Wardour Street 532 Oxford Street. The Firm Of Edwards & Roberts Was One Of The Principal London Companies Working In The Taste Of The Late 18th Century. They Started Business In 1845 And By 1854 Were Trading As "Edwards & Roberts", 21 Wardour Street, Antique & Modern Cabinet Makers & Importers Of Ancient Furniture" Wardour Street Became An Important Furniture Retailing Area In The Second Half Of The 19th Century. The Firm Carried A Fine And Complete Library Of The Old Designers (Chippendale, Adam, Hepplewhite And Sheraton). They Ceased Trading In 1899 Having Been At Various Addresses. Reference: C.F.: Wainwright, June 1978, Pages 95-105 In An Outstanding State Of Original Preservation. Choice Condition.
