One Superb 19th C Young Lady Wearing A Bonnet By J. H. Gillespie, On Paper, Circa: 1835 Set In The Original Gilded Copper Locket Case With Cast Foliate Border. The Aperture On The Reverse Holds A Curl Of The Sitter's Hair. Size: 2 1/16 inches high. In A Superb State Of Preservation. We Are Actively Seeking Works By The Artist For Our Growing Collection. All Inquiries Are Strictly Confidental With A Prompt Response. J. H. Gillespie (fl. America 1830-50) worked in London, Edinburgh and Liverpool before arriving in Canada in 1829. Gillespie first advertised in 1837 in Baltimore. He worked up and down the eastern seaboard, advertising in New York and Philadelphia.
