Rare & Important Early 19th C American Oil Painting On Board Of An Attractive Young Boy In A Cobalt Blue Coat With Gold Buttons & A Ruffled Ribbed Lace Collar. Circa: 1795-1815 Period Original Framed Size: 16" X 32 1/4" In An Outstanding State Of Original Preservation. Quite An Academic Oil Painting In Need Of An Attributed Artist. Currently, On Possible Attribution Might Be An Early Abraham Tuthill Who Travelled Between Philadelphia and Vermont Painting Sitters. This Lovely Portrait Was Found In The Virgin Islands By Direct Ownership From A Family Member Of The Original Sitter Who Settled In Both Newport, R.I. & Cornish, New Hampshire Community. It Has Never Been Out Of The Family For Generations Until Acquired By Equinox Antiques & Fine Art. A Gem! In Superb Condition!
