| Rare 20th C American Oil Painting Of Campney Family Farm in Manchester, Vermont by artist Luigi Lucioni (1900-1988) Titled "Red Barns in a Vermont Landscape" Oil on Canvas "12 X 18" Signed & Dated Lower Left - Luigi Lucioni -1942 With An Extraordinary Provenance: This lovely oil painting was purchased by Electra Havemeyer Webb (1888-1960), founder of the world class folk art museum in Vermont call Shelburne Museum in Shelburne, Vermont. Mrs. Webb was the principle benefactor of Luigi Lucioni. She purchased it from the artist who was a family friend. It then was inherited by Electra Hevemeyer Webb Bostwick (1910-1982) her daughter and son-in-law Dunbar W. Bostwick. who then released the oil painting for purchase by direct descent to the present owner Mark Reinfurt - Equinox Antiques & Fine Art. It is a solid work, wonderfully vibrant in presentation, character and format in reference to the spirit of Vermont a testiment to the artist career. It has survived in an outstanding state of preservation. The barns are identifiable and are still in existence on Route 11/30 just outside Manchester, Vermont traveling up the mountain towards Bromley Mountain. The red paint is long gone and they are now rustic barn board. This rare 20th C Vermont oil painting is a magnificant gem of Luigi Lucioni artistic ability and understanding of country life in New England. A living testiment to Vermont castles of the past.
