This is a rare and important 18th century Hepplewhite high style English regency tea caddy with a wonderful presentation. The shape is that of an elongated octagonal box with double compartments for two different types of tea storage. There are three magnificent oval pateras inlaid & dyed with various fruit woods of different classical floral & urns motifs inlaid and burnished into the front, top, and the inside lid, displaying the high English regency manner of box craftsmanship giving tremendous depth of knowledge, skill and difficulty of creation to
