This is a very rare & important 18th century American portrait miniature painted on ivory of an elegant young man signed by the premier New York City artist Nathanial Rogers. Signed lower right N. Rogers. This rare American portrait miniature of this elegant young man is completely original and has survived in a superb state of preservation. This quality portrait miniature on ivory was passed down for generations by the original family before being acquired by Equinox Antiques and comes with a folk art mourning picture completed by the young man when he lost his wife. In superb state of original preservation.
