A choice desk of great rarity. Bold curly maple Queen Anne slant top desk, four graduated drawers supported on four finely modeled cabriole legs with platformed pad feet, cyma-shaped knee brackets and lobed center pendant, pleasing stepped up interior with pilastered document drawers, two-board back, mellow amber patina. Choice untouched condition, completely original except for brasses. Height 42 1/2, width 38, depth 19 1/2. Origin: North Shore, Massachusetts. Provenance: Linden Estate, the collection of the late Mrs. George Morris. Circa: 1740-1760
